Went on my first long bike ride of the year tonight, riding along the river road down to the U, then across the Stone Arch Bridge to downtown and up Nicollet Ave to the Greenway, which took me to 13th Ave, past Powderhorn Park and then east back to my house.
Total distance was only about 14 miles, but it felt nice to get out and ride around the city. The highlight though came right before I got to the Greenway, when I was walking my bike over a curb when I tripped and fell, resulting in a bloody knee and a chain that fell off. The blood kept coming so I had to take off my undershirt and did my best to clean it up with some water. The shirt kept it clean enough so I could get over to my brother Jeff’s house, where I was finally able to wash it good.
An accident like this had to be documented, so as soon as I got home, I took a picture! Unfortunately, after cleaning it up, it no longer looked as bad as it did when it first happened, and blood was running down my leg. Oh well, guess next time I better wear my helmet, just in case I fall while walking again!

I don’t know, looks like a nasty scrape to me. Especially if you envision what it looked like with bits of rock and gravel stuck in there.
But was I reading that right, that you weren’t actually even riding the bike when the accident occurred? You just tripped walking with the bike?
