Surly Interview at What Ale’s Thee
I learned more about craft beers in the last hour, then I have after years of drinking it! Omar, from Surly, was interviewed in the latest What Ale’s Thee Podcast, and answered tons of questions regarding everything you wanted to know about beer in this country. Highly recommended.
One of his most interesting points came when talking about the lack of availability of so many of the nations best beers here. His point was that so much has to be done to ship beer (pasteurization), that it’s not always a bad thing to not get those beers here in MN. Drink locally, wherever you go, is the better option. I like that mentallity, but I still do wish we could get some of the big names in Craft Beers here.

not much to do with beer, but I have an extra ticket to TV on the Radio for the Thursday show (I’m going to tonight’s show and don’t need it). You popped in my head as someone that might want it, so I thought I’d check . . . I’d sell it for $20 (I paid $28 after all the freakin ticketmaster fees) . . . lemme know . . .
Thanks, but I’ll also be at the show tonight with The Tube (#2 Commenter). Any one else interested?
$28 including TM fees? OUCH. That hurts when face is only $17. Gotta love the Fetus for their minimal service charges.
Yeah, I know, TM sucks. I wooda gone to the Fetus but I was out of town and was worried it would sell out, so I bought online.
K then, see you tonight perhaps.
What’s this #2 commentator business?
I’m in the middle of the Surly interview and I’ve got a bad case of “wet mouth.”
I love the discussion about how taste evolves from college days –
Very informative – nice link!
Brian,
Thanks for the props and the link mate! I’m glad you liked the show. We had a bloody awesome time recording that one, Omar is a fairdinkum legend!

Keep it up, and when you’re in the great state of Maine, I’ve definitely got a few new beers for you to try!
