Went for my first bike ride of the year today after work since it was so nice outside. Started along the River Road in Longfellow to the Greenway, over the new bridge at Hiawatha, to Uptown and Lake Calhoun. Around the lakes and back home along the Minnehaha Creek. It was a good 20 mile ride, and I felt really smooth for it being my first ride of the season and I’m credibly out of shape!
My first ride was last week and yeah, that new bridge is fun. I’m incredibly out of shape as well. I felt it after just 9 miles. Damn.
I have a tendency to ride in one direction until I’m exhausted, and then I struggle to get back. My original plan was to just cross that bridge and then turn around. But I just kept going, and once I hit the lakes, I knew it would be a big ride.
