I voted Republican in the past and I will do so in the future. Thank you for posting a video that mischaracterizes all of us that have voted Republican. Your partisanship does little to advance this country.
That said, I’d post a link to the same video if it said “I’m voting Democrat” or anything else, as long as I found it funny. Guess humor is lost on Republicans along with common sense.
I’ve voted Republican in the past too, but the Republican Party you voted for in the past is not the Republican Party you would be voting for today. Besides, voting for a party over a person embodies the very danger George Washington warned against in his Farewell Address.
Finally, your statement that you have voted Republican in the past and will do so in the future embodies the very sort of partisanship for which you chastise Moe. If you are “above” that and are “advancing this country” as Moe apparently is not, then consider voting Democrat. It might make you a happier person.
Moe, when you mischaracterize an entire group of people who are only linked by one factor you are committing the same error that racists commit when they paint all persons of that race with the same brush. I find nothing funny about that. Besides, I am not a Republican. I am, however, humorless.
The Tube, your statement regarding voting for a party over a person is well taken. For the sake of brevity, I did not fully detail my voting behaviors. While I have voted for Republicans, I did not vote for them because they were Republican. I would have better expressed myself by saying “I have voted for Republicans and I will do so in the future.”
SMG, thanks for taking the time to clarify and not get shrill. In the context of political debate/disagreement, you are a rare breed. Still, I have to agree with Moe that the video itself is harmless. It parodies positions the Republican Party has taken by taking them to their plainly ridiculous extremes. I believe there is even an “I’m Voting Democrat” reponse video on YouTube. I haven’t watched it, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the same format with people saying they are voting Democrat because they want to have government make all decisions for them because thinking is too hard, that illegal immigrants shouldn’t just get amnesty but citezenship too, and that abortions should be offered free of charge in public schools because, hey, teenagers are having a lot of sex these days. Like it or not, it’s all part of the political discourse in the 21st century.

Haha! The kind of people in the video are so blindly partisan that they’d probably put up a video on their blog called “I’m Voting Democrat”

I guess I just missed the part of my post that said, “hey, check out this awesome video that accurately describes 100% of all Republicans”.
It’s a blog, I posted a link to a video. Get over it.
