Last night we stayed up extra late so we could watch the final episodes of the first season of Dexter, the Showtime show about a serial killer played by Michael C. Hall (from Six Feet Under). Dexter also works for the Miami Metro Police Department as a blood spatter analyst to add to the drama.
The show was awesome, but I can imagine it will get kinda old, like Weeds did once the storyline becomes too unrealistic. But I am looking forward to watching Season 2. My only complaint was with the DVD from Netflix. Instead of adding the final episode to the third disc, they created a fourth, but with only the final video and then two episodes of Showtime’s Brotherhood series. I thought that was a lame way to promote another show. Instead we bought the final episode from iTunes and watched it on the Apple TV.
During the writers strike they tried to move this to CBS, but I just don’t see how that was going to work. The Showtime show is very gruesome and very detailed, and there is no way you can edit it down to network TV. Even the opening credits is hard to watch, but extremely well done and very creepy.
